Ian McNulty: Recording Engineer/Producer
Originally from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, Ian McNulty attended The Sound Training Centre from 2003 to 2005 after several years of home recording. He began assisting in the centre’s sister studios, Temple Lane and also recording his own sessions.
After graduating from the Sound Training Centre, Ian continued to work freelance as an assistant engineer, recording engineer and occasional live sound engineer, in Dublin and further afield. In 2008, Ian took up a full time position as house engineer and assistant in Dublin’s Windmill Lane recording. Here, Ian garnered further experience and knowledge whilst assisting some of the world’s best engineers and producers. He also assisted in several very large scale orchestral recordings, and mobile recordings.
As freelance engineer, assistant engineer and sometimes producer, Ian has recorded numerous well received ep’s, singles and albums for artists such as Villagers, Vertigo Smyth, the Ambience Affair, The Thrills, The Young Folk, Pearse McGloughlin, Berkeley, Carol Anne McGowan, Johnny Kalsi (Afro Celt Sound System), Fred and Bob, Dublin Gospel Choir, John, Shelly and the creatures (now called master & dog), Brian Kennedy, Yurodny, Jack L, The Terribles, Justin Carroll, Henrietta Game, and countless demo recordings for up and coming bands and singers.
Ian is also one of the owner/engineers of Charthouse Recording in Dublin.
